Weather Date: Friday, 19 February, 8:00 pm Rough, cheeky and vibrant
work by a fourteen young artists from across Canada opens the 2009 winter season
at Saint Mary's University Art Gallery. Fresh from a high-profile run at
Toronto’s Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, Pulp Fiction
assembles members of a generation who began, in the 1990s, to bypass artist-run
centres, museums and galleries and create ad hoc and independent networks for
collaboration and distribution, working sometimes as collectives, sometimes as
individuals. Despite living in different parts of the country, most of the
artists in Pulp Fiction have worked together on projects or know
of each other through colleagues.
